“ Pleasant atmosphere in an otherwise fast food setting. The curry had a peppery (as in black pepper) flavor which we aren't used to with standard Japanese curry and the tofu in it was deep fried, which wasn't to our liking. Generally tofu would be the healthier option! I really liked the cucumber salad though. Nice lady with good service, too. Will definitely go back and try some other items! ”
“ It was tasty. I liked that the udon showed as spicy and actually had a bit of a kick to it. ”
“ If you're looking for the perfect little vegetarian bento box in Atlanta, Tenya is your spot. We stopped in for a pick-up order on a recent Saturday and ended up enjoying one of the best takeout meals we have had in a while. Ordering was super easy. We both got the fried tofu platters, hers with French fries and curry sauce, and mine with cold soba and spicy sauce, and both were served with cabbage and daikon salad. A refreshingly light but satisfying meal. And served with a smile. We can't wait to visit Tenya again and again. ”
“ Excellent service, very friendly and helped guide our choices. The place was clean, orderly and about half full. Ordered the Gyoza, Japanese Curry Rice Bowl, Gingeryaki Rice Bowl, water and a Bottle of Tea. The Gyoza took awhile to come out, and when it did it was cold which isn't what we had in mind. In addition 2 of the 3 chicken pieces of the Curry Rice Bowl were tough. Otherwise good flavor, everything else was hot and I really liked the breading on the chicken. However, at $40 everything needs to be on target and unfortunately it wasn't. ”
“ Tenya is a great place to stop by for a quick bite that won't break the bank! The menu is very short & simple serving fried chicken/tofu sandwiches and different types of Japanese rice bowls. I ordered the Chicken Katsu with Tenya Sauce which contains Japanese slaw and cucumber pickles and paired with side of Tenya Furikake Fries. Also ordered soy eggs to try! The fried chicken was great and not overcooked, and was even better with the refreshing taste from the slaw and cucumbers. (This type of sandwich is most likely better while eating at the restaurant rather than ordering by UberEats or Door Dash since it can potentially become soggy by the time it gets to you.) The side of soy eggs were also great and the yolk was runny - just how I like them! This was enough shared with a friend to keep me satiated until my next meal. We were the only ones at the restaurant at the time so we were able to get our food within probably 10 minutes. It's a cute little restaurant with natural lighting and they sell additional Japanese convenience store snacks. ”
“ YALL, COME HERE AND TRY IT! If you are craving some authentic Japanese cuisine. This place is a MUST-TRY. The workers are friendly, place is clean, and they sell various drinks, snacks, desserts and entrees. We got their [24hr Braised Pork Chasyu Bowl] and [Cold Soba Noodle Sesame Salad]. [24hr Braised Pork Chasyu Bowl] * This dish is a 10/10 for me. The pork cut itself is high quality, the colesaw was delicious, the radish is sour and sweet, and the egg, rice and sauce all come together harmoniously. [Cold Soba Noodle Sesame Salad] * My girlfriend loved this dish and so did I. The noodles are chilled, fresh and clean taste. The tenya chicken is fried to perfection. Crispy skin and juicy meat on the inside. It is also topped with the delicious radish and some cucumbers. 10/10 Overall, this place is a must visit from me. They also provide soup with the meals too! ”
“ Tenya Japanese Eatery, located in N. Decatur, offers a boutique style dining experience. The staff members here are incredibly hospitable and kind. From the moment I walked in, I received a warm welcome and helpful information about the menu. To begin my meal, I ordered a delightful combination of miso soup, Tenya fries & furikake. The fries were prepared fresh to order and came with a special mayonnaise sauce imported directly from Japan. For my main course, I selected the Gingeryaki rice chicken bowl, which featured tender chicken paired with flavorful rice, Japanese's slaw, tenya sauce and pickles. It was a delicious and satisfying choice. ”
“ That pork chashu rice bowl is amazing. I like simple dishes and it's a very simple dish but it's well done. The egg and veggies make it look pretty but I came here for the pork. It's rich, flavorful, and excellent on rice. Chicken katsu sando my wife ordered was good too but it needed some type of sauce. The fries were extra crispy and had some furikake seasoning on it which is nice. Furikake seasoning is my crack. I can't think of a food it won't enhance. Would I come here again? Yes. When I'm craving some pork on rice. It's the best pork on rice in the area. ”
“ I'm still loving this place! There aren't a lot of Japanese street food spots around, and this place is a rare find. The food and its quality are still on par. The prices are so so, but isn't everything nowadays? Tenya seemed to have expanded their inventory to snacks and drinks. Their menu is still solid imo. ”
“ Such a cute, casual Japanese shop with great food! We picked up from Tenya a few days ago and got the curry rice bowl and the katsu sando. Both tasted super good - the curry rice bowl had so much flavor and the katsu sandwich sauces were perfect with the chicken and slaw. The fries were also seasoned well, and I tried some interesting Japanese drinks too. Since it's pretty close to me, I'll definitely be coming back here if I'm craving Japanese food but not sushi or ramen! ”
